New Workshop Series

Non Profit Charities Legal Outreach: Legal Pitfalls Series
A workshop series for non profits

Vancouver, British Columbia – November 25, 2014

Beginning in early December, 2014, the Non Profit Charities Legal Outreach (NPCLO) is launching its innovative workshop series for non profits. The Legal Pitfalls Workshop Series aims to educate staff and directors of non profits on the common legal issues facing them and their organizations. Scheduled workshops include:

• Privacy 101 (December 9, 2014)

• Employment 101 (February, 2015)

• Contracts 101 (March, 2015)

• Leasing 101 (June, 2015)

Each workshop will allow participants to access information and gain insight into legal issues in governance and non profit law. The week following each workshop, the NCPLO will hold office hours through its legal help desk, which will give participants the opportunity to ask an expert detailed questions and receive summary legal advice. The Legal Pitfalls Workshop Series builds on the “Preventing Legal Pitfalls Bootcamp” developed by lawyer Martha Rans (Legal Director of Artists Legal Outreach (ALO/NPCLO)) and Alison Brewin, consultant. The workshops are funded by the City of Vancouver Social Responsibility Fund.
